Personal Information Collection and Use
“Personally Identifiable Information” (PII) refers to any information that identifies or can be used to identify or contact the person such information pertains to. This includes, but is not limited to, name, address, telephone number, and similar data.

The AAOA does not collect PII about you except when you provide the information on a voluntary basis. The AAOA collects the PII that you provide. The AAOA may use the PII provided by you to conduct research, to improve this site, and to provide services to you. The AAOA will disclose your PII to third parties when necessary for the provision of services to you, for the protection of others, and when required by law. The AAOA will not otherwise sell, share, or rent your PII to unaffiliated third parties without your express permission.

Aggregate information is information in summary form that does not contain PII. The AAOA uses and allows third parties to use aggregate information to aid in the development or implementation of programs, products and services. For example, the AAOA may inform a potential advertiser that 15% of its journal users prefer articles on OMT. Since aggregate information does not contain PII, the AAOA will share this information without your express permission.

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive which allows organizations to collect non-PII about the user’s use of a site. Once the user closes the browser, most cookies simply terminate. Osteopathic.org does not currently use cookies

Log Files
The AAOA uses IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track a user’s movements through the site, and gather broad information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to PII.

Privacy as it applies to the Internet is a dynamic, rapidly developing area. In the future, the AAOA may make significant changes to this Privacy Policy. Therefore, you should check this Privacy Policy regularly. If you choose to reject an amendment and have your PII removed from AAOA records, please notify the AAOA at info@aaoa4u.org.
