Osteopathy
AAOA is comprised of friends and families of osteopathic physicians, and members who support the public health and educational activities of osteopathic physicians through educational, social and legislative programs and initiatives.

Members of AAOA may participate in programs that educate the community about the many benefits of osteopathic medicine.  Each year, AAOA supports students training to become osteopathic physicians through AAOA grants and also arranges social and educational activities for the students, family and friends.

AAOA members are regularly encouraged to contact state and federal legislators to seek support on issues benefiting the profession and the health care consumer.  AAOA offers members more than just educational and legislative outreach to its members.  The organization also offers social activities and programming for people sharing a common interest in osteopathic medicine.

The AAOA has evolved greatly from the social organization that Dr. Elizabeth Broach organized in 1929 to become the leading advocate for those supporting the practice of osteopathic medicine.

The  AAOA Facts Sheet provides a brief summary of the AAOA's various efforts and accomplishments.
